Where your purchase goes

These books were written for a purpose beyond themselves. Over 50% of my earnings from them are given to care for widows, orphans and those in distress in Kurdistan: families living in deep poverty who often fall through every gap and receive no support at all.

The help is given quietly, person to person. We don't hand out cash; instead, we buy and provide the essentials people need most, and we keep a receipt for every purchase. For the safety and dignity of those involved, we don't share names or details. But please know that every book you buy helps meet a real need for someone who has nowhere else to turn.

Philip Lye

About Philip

I'm Philip Lye. My books aren't built on theory. They come from 20 years of pain, depression and burnout, and the long road back to wholeness.

I hold a doctorate in cross-cultural training, a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations, and I'm a qualified accountant in both the UK and Australia. None of that protected me. I spent years being bullied, gaslit and manipulated at work, until I sought the help I needed to stop it and rebuild. Later, as full-time carer for my late wife Janine, a tetraplegic after three spinal strokes, I met the same patterns again in the care system. I studied medicine and pharmacology independently to hold my ground, and worked through to forgiveness.

My doctorate is in cross-cultural training. These guides share lived experience and practical self-help; they do not provide clinical assessment or treatment.

Every guide is written for the person living it, and for the person standing beside them.

I also write about travel and culture in the Middle East, including Kurdistan. My field guide, How to Navigate Conflict Zones Responsibly, my cultural guide, Bridging the Divide, and my cookbook, Flavors of Kurdistan, are in the e-books above.

More than half of my book earnings go to helping families in need in Kurdistan. Read more
